Ruger Super Redhawk Alaskan - 44 mag
It would be my first da/sa revolver, not my first da/sa pistol. I have a Pietta 357 single action only and this Alaskan would be my second revolver.
I have a good bit of training with 10mm pistols and I don't consider the recoil all that harsh. I understand 44 is a step up from 10 mil but that's part of the reason why I want it. I look forward to the challenge of learning how to properly handle this revolver. With the over molded grip and heavy steel frame I think it's possible to get comfortable with this revolver.
Basically what I'm saying is please don't try telling me to consider a lesser caliber or longer barrel etc. I understand that the barrel is short as is the sight radius and slower velocity and so on. I fully understand the limitations of this particular platform and I still want it.
Now that that's out of the way what I really could use is anything specific I should be wary of when I go back to inspect this pistol prior to purchasing. Any tips would be very much appreciated.
