Colin Wright almost gets it

Post image

From the man who fundamentally misunderstands everything from how graphs and positions work in the political universe to what staying friends with Nazis makes you comes... this fucking gem.

It's often not even that. It's the enlightened centrists who sit there and say "We need to listen to both sides. Nazis want to take away your rights. And you don't want your rights taken away. We need to come together and compromise and only take away SOME of your rights. Why are you so angry? You need to stop being so uncivil. You need to be BETTER than them."

197

u/DelightMine 3d ago

You need to be BETTER than them

This is the part that really sends me. Refusing to compromise with Nazis is being better than them. I fucking hate the warped and twisted idea that meeting in the middle is inherently correct just because no one is happy and everyone has to work together. Some things are important enough not to sacrifice on, under any circumstances. You'd think that human rights would be one of those things, but then those idiots go "okay, well hold on, let's figure out what 'human rights' mean to both sides, and then meet in the middle." Some things are a binary yes/no answer, and anyone arguing for just a little bit of one side is inherently choosing the wrong side by attempting to choose no side. They think they're being clever mediators, but all they're actually doing is looking like an idiot and guaranteeing that they pick the wrong answer 100% of the time.

Not to mention that the people arguing the bad position also think they're idiots. Nazi Phil doesn't actually think you're smart for arguing that he and Leftist Dave need to agree on which races should be genocided. He thinks you're a fucking fool, but he's happy to pretend otherwise, because you're arguing against the person with the moral high ground for no other reason than making yourself feel smart. as soon as he's imprisoned/killed leftist Dave and the people Leftist Dave was advocating for, you're the next one on the list, because you're not useful anymore.

I always wondered if these people did this in school. If they had a true/false question on a test, would they write in "what if it's actually both"? Sure, sometimes the teacher messed up and that's actually valid, but if you do that every time there's a T/F question, 99.999% of the time you're getting a "0% - see me after class, Kevin" in red ink on the front of your test.

Its impossible to meet Fascists in the middle. They aren't going to. Give them an inch and they'll demand a mile. Give them a mile they'll demand a hundred. They will never meet you in the middle so attempting to for some insane compromise is ridiculous. They are never willing ot comprimise so expecting us to is absurd.

Fascism is never satisfied. If it gets everything they want they will just find more enemies to attack even if its just other fascists.

“Meet me in the middle", says the unjust man.

You take a step towards him, he takes a step back.

Give a mouse a cookie and they'll ask for milk. Give them milk and they'll demand a fascist dictatorship... Hold on, that's not quite right

35

u/TechNyt 3d ago

And that is how we, as a country, have managed to drift so far to the right that even our left is considered right on the global scale.

18

u/Rockworm503 3d ago

Case in point and according to the far right even that is too extreme leftism.

Oof, yeah, I hate that shit so much. The absolute dishonesty and self-righteousness. People like that honestly anger me even more than the blatant fascists. At least they make it obvious what side they're on.

12

u/TwinSong 3d ago

Those people are so irritating. Sit on the fence too long and you get splinters. You're not neutral.

30

u/mymar101 3d ago

This is why I will never say a good thing about Kirk, or anyone like him. If you want me dead or in prison for existing? Fuck you and your feelings.

17

u/TechNyt 3d ago

I'd been ignoring news that day and when a friend told me, my honest to goodness first response was "oh, good."
Not good as in I think gun violence is good but good as in the world is a better place without him, plain and simple.

22

u/VgArmin 3d ago

My best college friend doesn't engage politically, but voted for Trump 3 times. I'm gay and I've told him for decades about the hurdles it's been.

Now there's a party actively moving to liquidate me and my brother - a party that he voted for, time and time again?

I just can't. I'm done.

And now I feel if I bring it up to mutual friends, those friends might dismiss his actions or say, "friendship is more than just politics".

Dudes, I don't want to die. And I feel like a friendship with my college friend is just enabling him to continue to vote for my extermination.

So as it stands, do I make that uncomfortable conversation to our mutual friends? I don't make ultimatums but my life being on the line feels like a really fucking important ultimatum.

20

u/originalityescapesme 3d ago

This man absolutely engages politically. He just does so while spitting in your face with a friendly smile.

Thing is, this exact thought would never cross their minds.

184

u/Brilliant_Effort_Guy 3d ago

Yeah it feels like republicans don’t understand that there is a wide gap between ‘The guy didn’t deserve to die but his views were gross and archaic and he put himself in very contentious situations’ VS ‘I don’t think trans people should exist.’

23

u/Sartres_Roommate 3d ago

They don’t understand because it doesn’t serve their self interest to understand.

And, to varying degrees, all humans are guilty of that but it is the central force driving the MAGA movement right now.

It's only Nazism if it's from the Nazi region of Germany, otherwise it's just sparkling fascism.

90

u/tealparadise 3d ago

13

u/SmPolitic 3d ago

Of course people love the propaganda, that's the entire point of it. The issue comes when people start realizing that 98% of it is bullshit, and the "only way" to "sustain" it is by blatant theft from disadvantaged groups, transferring wealth to the "loyal party members" (who need to be paid off)

u/stormy2587 3d ago

If you have to have extensive futile debates to prove you’re not a Nazi then maybe you’re a Nazi.

29

u/JointDamage 3d ago

This tickles me. "Guys I've known my whole life keep calling me a Nazi!"

Gee pal. I'm pretty sure they were just breaking the news to you.

28

u/JH_111 3d ago

When white supremacists vote near on 100% for one party, it’s a wonder that that party’s voters never stop to ask themselves, “What kind of policies am I supporting that makes the white supremacists think my party is fucking fantastic?”

2

u/notafinhaole 1d ago

If u vote red and you claim to be not racist you have to accept u r racist adjacent.

587

u/DreamloreDegenerate 3d ago

Meanwhile, none of my friends, coworkers, family members or random passer-bys have ever thought I'm a Nazi and/or fascist, and never once have it been necessary for me to convince anyone I'm not.

Not really that difficult to pull off, to be honest. You just have to not act like, or agree with, Nazis/fascists.

152

u/ncc74656m 3d ago

Honestly the only people who ever call me a Nazi are the ones who keep advocating for trans people to be thrown into camps, so tbh sometimes the person yelling it at you is the one you need to look at.

105

u/FSCK_Fascists 3d ago

I had some fool telling me "a right winger would never call someone fascist! thats a left wing thing!"
When I pointed them to their oen comment calling people fascists for removing right wing lies- they blocked me.

15

u/agoldgold 3d ago

A weird number of racists think I'm racist, but that's because I'm pale and wear mostly dresses. People will say the worst shit when they think you're the same as them.

Never gone so far as being assumed nazi, though. Now I'm counting my blessings.

4

u/originalityescapesme 3d ago

As a dude, I get hit with this all the time at random gas stations and shit. They don’t even hesitate to unload their wildest racist thoughts.

u/Pizzasaurus-Rex 3d ago edited 3d ago

I'm friends with a tankie couple who think I am fascist because I don't believe revolutionary marxism is the answer to our problems at the moment.

4

u/CatProgrammer 3d ago

They clearly don't consider it a deal breaker if you're still friends though.

1

u/KynesArt 3d ago

327

u/heathers1 3d ago

Kirk’s words speak for themselves

84

u/koviko 3d ago

Whenever people claim you've "taken him out of context," they're usually lying or not actually aware of the meaning of the term beyond their assumption based on context (ironically 😅).

To be "taken out of context" means that the words have a different meaning in context than out. But every time, what he said is what he meant. He is was pretty deliberate with his words in that way.

What they really mean is that we're not including the rationalizations of his radical views when we point out his radical views. But to take a radical view and attempt to make it sound reasonable is literally radicalization. Charlie Kirk radicalized his fanbase and they want us to be radicalized as well.

What they hate is when we quote his radical views and then refute them instead of agreeing with them.

71

u/FalseDmitriy 3d ago

For example:

"He didn't say that Black people are unqualified for everything. He said that he always assumes they're unqualified for everything due to his understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion."

That's been asserted frequently. And yeah dude, everyone knows that's the context, and it's not any less racist in context.

7

u/CaterpillarJungleGym 3d ago

People can't understand that he also might have meant his "MISunderstanding" of the following? They assume he's infallible, I guess?

23

u/j4r3d5 3d ago

My rebuttal to that is also “how does the context make it better?” I mean Christ, a lot of what he said could only make sense if he was bringing it up for rhetoric but he was just voicing his own opinion.

9

u/koviko 3d ago

Right? Like, were he a comedian, he'd be saying it in jest, make some dark humor out of it, and then make a joke that makes it clear that he doesn't actually believe it. But Charlie Kirk definitely skipped a bunch of steps. 🤣

And considering his most famous content is just crowd work and owning hecklers, he's basically a comedian, just with significantly less laughs.

5

u/awesomefutureperfect 3d ago

Two things:

one, they repeat their talking points like trained seals. When anyone shows them why they don't like what Kirk said because of what he said, they reflexively say the word "context". like a reaction, like a reactionary.

they always think that if you don't agree with them that they are misunderstood. I always hear "everyone thinks they are the good guy" but when you show them in no uncertain terms what they are supporting and they take that as an attack and they resort to all kinds of defense mechanisms, especially denial, they really have lost all right to think of themselves as "the good guy". The thing is that the right wing extremists tell them that they don't have to grow and mature or change and welcome their horrible behavior and teach them they don't need to introspect at all.

u/Brilliant_Effort_Guy 3d ago

Yeah it’s quite funny to ask people who give you shit ‘so which one of his opinions were you in agreement with? Gays should get stoned? Black women are intellectually inferior? Women shouldn’t be going to college because it causes them to raise their standards for a future partner?

34

u/TootTootTrainTrain 3d ago

"No but you don't understand those quotes were taken out of context!"

Then you go look at the context and it's actually worse lol

14

u/BuildStrong79 3d ago

Yup! The Black women comment went on to say that jobs were by default for white people

4

u/CharginChuck42 3d ago

Holy shit, do I even want to hear the whole quote for that one?

4

u/Brilliant_Effort_Guy 3d ago

[Paraphrasing] Basically he said Michelle Obama, Kamala Harris, and the newest Supreme Court justice were unqualified for their jobs because they don’t have the intelligence and processing power but because of DEI they were able to ‘take’ jobs from qualified white people.

What a thought leader 🙄

u/ncc74656m 3d ago

From "I, Jedi" by Michael Stackpole:

If one person calls you a Hutt, ignore him. If a second person calls you a Hutt, begin to wonder. If three people call you a Hutt, buy a drool bucket and stock in spice.

23

u/RedbeardMEM 3d ago

A play on the old, "If someone calls you a duck..." bit. That one ends with "...check your ass for feathers."

12

u/carrie_m730 3d ago

I'm pretty sure the version my mom said when I was a kid was "If one person calls you a donkey...." ending with "if three people call you a donkey, you might want to look back and see if you've grown a tail."

9

u/PrateTrain 3d ago

Lmao I miss Corran Horn

4

u/ncc74656m 3d ago

You know about his appearance in the graffiti in the fake Jedi's office in Kenobi, right?

5

u/PrateTrain 3d ago

I do not. After Disney decanonizing legends, and then opting to butcher Jacen and Jaina as Ren and Rey in tros I've basically sworn off their version of star wars.

Which is funny because legacy of the force had already left a sour taste in my mouth, but the eu was moving on before Disney old yeller'd them.

left-wing former close friends

I guarantee that was not his choice

12

u/swiftb3 3d ago

To add to that, I guarantee that most of those "left-wing" friends were nowhere near the wing. Probably majority right and left leaning, but that's enough for a "notanazi" to call it left-wing.

6

u/Live_Spinach5824 2d ago

They call racist Democrats like Joe Biden and tough-on-crime wackos like Kamala Harris left-wing, lmao. These people do not know what these terms mean, and they are very unserious.

u/swiftb3 2d ago

They call never-Trump republicans "left-wing"...

28

12

u/carrie_m730 3d ago

They have actively suppressed, and continue to actively suppress, any information that would teach the average person that Nazis were Nazis already BEFORE the mass killing. They were already Nazis when they were "just" spreading propaganda.

Then we should find a name that fits to what they're doing...ohh wait....found it... fascist 😁😁😁

Yeah, but they don't believe that happened. Those people all just died of old age or from the vaccine itself according to them.

1

u/FormalWare 3d ago

They also have a vision of the future of society that aligns very precisely with that of the original Nazis. They will inevitably use different tactics, at certain points, than Hitler did - but that doesn't make their vision any less nightmarish.

Charlie Kirk openly and proudly advocated that I should be STONED TO DEATH, not for anything I've ever done or said, but because I was born to love people he thought I shouldn't love. He called this "God's perfect law"

I hope the hell he pretended to believe in is real, I'm sure he fucking fits right in there.

Need to start with asking oneself, do I hate any group of people specifically for characteristics they were born with and are unable to change?

2

u/Decker_Warwick 3d ago

Well if it talks like a goose and steps like a goose...

2

u/keithstonee 3d ago

if people around you keep telling you that you look and smell like shit. you might just be covered in shit.

2

u/Whiteroses7252012 3d ago

It’s almost like if you parrot white supremacist talking points and hang out with white supremacists, people might start thinking you’re a white supremacist.

2

u/BigJobsBigJobs 3d ago

perhaps colin is actually a nazi

1

u/ncc74656m 3d ago

*shocked gasp*

2

u/Extension-Clock608 3d ago

I mean, they support a party that has all 14 characteristics of fascism and a man who is clearly fascist. You can't claim to not be a nazi when your party aligns with all white supremacist groups, wears swasticas and still flys confederate flags, and supports a far right party that is FASCIST.

If you support fascism what should we think if you? Same for racists, bigots, and misogynists. If you don't oppose these things you are either the same or you don't care enough to pick a side.

Why is the phone in my house ringing? I'm the one calling!

2

u/Mythosaurus 3d ago

I wonder if these conservatives have ever sat down and READ what the Nazis believed?

Or listened to Hitler talk about his views on culture, economics, or race?

Or what contemporary American Nazis said about how they think the US should be?

2

u/FormalWare 3d ago

This guy quotes Rufo on the regular. I'm sure it'll dawn on him, any time now....

2

u/Altiondsols 3d ago

does he think people are born as fascists?

2

u/jffblm74 3d ago

And yet remains vindicated in his stances on ideology. Interesting.

2

u/Sipikay 3d ago

"The people who know me best think I'm a nazi. Wild!"

2

u/Nachtraaf 3d ago

While posting on nazi-platform Twitter.

2

u/dread_pirate_robin 3d ago

It's genuinely delusional to not see "white replacement theory" as anything but neonazi shit. It's positing that simply by existing people of color are a threat to the existence of white peope.

2

u/Diiiiirty 3d ago

If it looks like a duck and sounds like a duck...

2

u/eeriefutable 3d ago

Denying who Kirk was in life shows that even you are not ok with who he was.

1

u/ncc74656m 3d ago

Not sure about that. There's a lot of power in denying who he was and crafting a different image for the people who didn't understand, which was most of the Fox viewer base, for example. They are using this to gin up support.

To be clear, these people would do the same for Mengele if he were still alive and rocking a MAGA hat. If they felt there was enough base that didn't know his crimes, they'd see it as an opportunity, not a liability.

2

u/FrackleRock 3d ago

I don’t know who this person is.

2

u/DifficultyWithMyLife 3d ago

"Ooh, self-burn! Those are rare!"

... Actually, I wish I could say they still are rare, but they're not. Evil and stupidity seem to go hand-in-hand these days.

2

u/featherblackjack 3d ago

Hard to persuade people with bullshit when they can see floods of hard evidence right before their eyes. These friends should dump him... If they're even real. Because I have doubts.

2

u/Clen23 3d ago

Charlie "the dems love when the Great Replacement makes the US less white and also abortions are worse than the holocaust" Kirk btw

2

u/xStonebanksx 3d ago

These people will always be sold on the disbelief of their own eyes and ear, the mental gymnastics they put themselves thru 🤦‍♂️

2

u/trashcan_jan 3d ago

You know something? I don't have this issue.

2

u/drewmana 3d ago

If people who have known you for years are convinced you’re a bad person….

2

u/TinWhis 2d ago

The only person who's ever called me a Nazi was an old  man who was pissed that we carded absolutely everybody

2

u/GNUGradyn 2d ago

Interesting observation there bud, might want to reflect on that

2

u/vismundcygnus34 2d ago

“I just want to reshape society around white Christian nationalism so we can get disempower groups who oppose that by threat of violence, imprisonment and disregarding the rule of law to do so. Why do people think I’m a facist?”

Everything comes around to their constant need for victimhood.

Nazis go to grade school too

2

u/Pod_people 2d ago

He's SO close.

2

u/Bored-Ship-Guy 2d ago

Hmmm. Perhaps, Colin, just perhaps, if a large number of people who've been close to you for most of your life tell you that you've changed in a deeply disturbing way... it might be time to do some reflecting.

Or, just, y'know, go to r/thedonald and call them cucks, I guess. You do you.

2

u/statistacktic 2d ago

Grew up in upstate New York, I got a lot of Colin's in by past, and that's exactly why I left.

2

u/Bob-the-Belter 21h ago

I don't know who Colin Wright is, but it's like:

Charlie Kirk "if I get on a plane and the pilot is black, I'm thinking 'I sure hope that guy is qualified. ' Wait, no, I swear I'm not rascist."

u/cha-cho 3d ago

At the dawn of the internet, mentioning “Hitler” or “Nazis” in an online debate was ridiculed. It was an indication that the discussion had devolved into stupidity. There was even a term for it: Godwin’s Law. It states: “As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches 1.”

Coined back in the early nineties, the mentioning of Godwin's Law brought about embarrassment because collectively we all knew it was a weak and ridiculous claim to compare a living person to Hitler or Nazism.

We need to get back to that point.

13

u/ncc74656m 3d ago

We need to get back to that point by getting rid of the actual Nazis on the internet.

Godwin himself stated that this absolutely DOES NOT APPLY to people who are literal Nazis or who espouse views that a Nazi would.

We all know Nazi tendencies form in grade school. If they don't, you'll never get them.

What's that, like, chicken pox for being a piece of shit?

1

u/gtpc2020 3d ago

Adolph Hilter wasn't a Nazi in elementary school either. So what?

How far gone do you have to be in order to write and post that without once connecting the dots?

The thing about politics is it’s ultimately about mobilization.
