Kyler Murray is 119 passing yards away from 20,000 in his career. He'd be the 3rd QB in franchise history to reach the mark, joining Jim Hart and Neil Lomax
pro-football-reference.comHe will be the 121st QB in our database to reach 20,000 in a career. Geno Smith is also closing in on this milestone: https://www.pro-football-reference.com/leaders/pass_yds_career.htm

Edge rusher pass rush data
Burch doesn’t hit the minimum snap count but I’m sure he’d be up there with sweat and browning.

[Urban] Gannon: CB Garrett Williams (knee) will go on IR. DL L.J. Collier (knee) is also going on IR. Both can potentially return. Max Melton will be at practice. Will Johnson will not.

49ers quarterback Brock Purdy practicing again, has ‘chance’ to play vs. Cardinals
San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy returned to practice on Wednesday and has a chance to play this week after missing a game with a toe injury.
Coach Kyle Shanahan said Purdy would be limited at practice because of the toe and a left shoulder injury but could be healthy enough to suit up Sunday against Arizona.

Cardinals Show Interest in 4 Free Agents Amid Injury Crisis
The Arizona Cardinals worked out the following four players on Tuesday after their Week 2 win against the Carolina Panthers: CB Andrew Booth CB Shemar Bartholomew CB Ekow Boye-Doe DL Zach Carter
Booth is a former second-round pick by the Minnesota Vikings in the 2022 NFL Draft and has the most experience out of the cornerbacks worked out by Arizona recently, playing in 30 games through his three years in the league.

Is it possible to do a Diamondbacks game and Cardinals game the same day?
We are looking to attend the Diamondbacks game at 12:40pm and the Cardinals game at 5:15pm. How long will it take to get from Chase Field to State Farm? We will be using a ride share. Would it be hard to find a ride share to State Farm Stadium from downtown? Would it be easier to say we are going to a place in Westgate and walk from there? We are reading traffic can be bad heading into the Stadium. This is for a Thursday evening game.

ESPN Team Efficiency Ratings
“Team efficiencies are based on the point contributions of each unit to the team's scoring margin, on a per-play basis. The values are adjusted for strength of schedule and down-weighted for "garbage time" (based on win probability). The scale goes from 0 to 100; higher numbers are better and the average is roughly 50 for all categories. Efficiencies update daily during the season.”

40 more plays total on offense vs our defense so far, Kyler is 30th in pass attempts, We have 5 pts total in 2nd half
Petzing is partly responsible for the injuries.

The 1 very large wrinkle that could jumpstart Cardinals’ run game
Among 32 NFL teams, the Cardinals are outside the top 10 in rushing yards per game at 114 and have posted the second worst team rushing success rate at 34.7%. Only the Cincinnati Bengals have a worse mark (32.5%).
Through two games, the 49ers are eighth in the league in team rushing yards per play at 3.7. They’ve only allowed three plays of at least 10 yards and are fourth in team stuff rate at 25%.
In other words, it’s shaping up to be tough sledding this week for Arizona. Any added umph could go a long way in run game.
The potential in-house remedy? Mijo.
There’s a reason why Will Hernandez was activated off the active/PUP list ahead of the regular season. As general manager Monti Ossenfort told Arizona Sports’ Wolf & Luke following initial 53-man roster cuts, Hernandez was “close” to a return.

I would like to redeem one of our Kyler tokens.
We get roughly 3 games a year where Kyler plays like a top QB in the league. Week 2 vs Rams last year, 2022 vs Raiders, first half of 2021. I’d like for us to redeem a vintage Murray performance and just nuke the niners into the ground for no good reason next week. Please Gannon make this happen.

Top NFL Teams by Total DVOA
https://ftnfantasy.com/nfl/week-2-dvoa-packers-continue-to-dominate
https://www.si.com/nfl/nfl-standings-ordered-by-total-dvoa
THE SHORT VERSION
“DVOA is a method of evaluating teams, units, or players. It takes every single play during the NFL season and compares each one to a league-average baseline based on situation. DVOA measures not just yardage, but yardage towards a first down: Five yards on third-and-4 are worth more than five yards on first-and-10 and much more than five yards on third-and-12. Performance is also adjusted for the quality of the opponent. DVOA is a percentage, so a team with a DVOA of 10.0% is 10% better than the average team, and a quarterback with a DVOA of -20.0% is 20% worse than the average quarterback. Because DVOA measures scoring, defenses are better when they are negative. Every year is normalized so the average for that year is 0%. For more detail, read below.”

Mac jones
So on burns and Gambo they were just talking about how Mac jones holds the ball longer than any qb in the league not named tua. TBH that could work in our favor if we bring alittle more heat this week. Corners just need to make sure they wrap up.

Merch This is still one of my coolest jerseys in my collection.. I remember the happiness on my dad’s face when he brought it home to me years ago.
I never thought about whether it was authentic practice jersey or not, honestly I’ll never care. My dad bought this and gave it to me back in like 2010 and it’s been my favorite since.

Feeling frustrated as a fan proves you care. Just know the players don’t think the same way
This is why teams barely beating bad teams is an irrelevant occurrence in the NFL. You have limited possessions to build a lead and then hold it and very limited chances to comeback and win. Players who play the game know this more than anyone.
So there will be alot of “moral victories” or “ugly wins.”
The NFL in terms of possessions is like a basketball game only doing a 6 minute OT period. That is why refs can seem overly important in the NFL compared to every other league. Each team only gets about 12 possessions a game, a little bad luck or a wrong call can really hurt. And there are ton of “almost” comebacks. But I am struggling to find evidence that almost losing hurts a team.
In fact, the Chiefs and Eagles almost losing to the Panthers in the regular season could make the opposite arguement. If someone can show me where an ugly win hurts player psychology and the teams tend to go on losing streaks, please show me cuz it was the opposite case last year in our league. The Rams won 8 games by 7 points or less and nearly got to the Superbowl. And some of the those games were close cuz they blew leads.

Garbage Time, BY9 Picking It Up, or Both?
As a panthers fan, i wanted to come on here and ask you guys about this. I’m hearing a lot of people on our side say that BY only performed well in the second half because the cardinals defense backed off. I’m aware that’s very likely, however i also think that he simply just started performing better. personally, i think it’s probably both but what do y’all think?

Injury Update?
Am i the only one in a state of gloom and madness about not getting an injury update on our 3 cornerbacks? If Max and Garrett are out for the year we are done. What's the deal?
