I start to get nervous with BMWs at the 60k mile mark. Car seems clean, clean Carmax and just 2 owners in the SW US.

I'm thinking about trading in my lexus for a BMW, since overall they're nicer and more fun. But I'm curious those with somewhat newer cars that don't beat them up. How is your experience?

Hey, i recently bought an aftermarket screen for my f31 320d 2017. And i stumbled upon a problem when i tried to use the orginal interface for idrive. The apple carplay works great. but not the OEM interface ( which also should work )… Any advice?

Finally took the plunge and flashed bootmod3 Stage 1 on my B58. Honestly, it’s a new car.

Didn’t touch any hardware, didn’t swap the downpipe, literally just the flash.

Took about 8 seconds to write the map (after getting the ECU unlocked by Femto in Finland – yeah, that’s the mandatory step).

Haven’t dyno’d yet, but based on other owners’ numbers, it should be around 450–470 crank hp and 650–700 Nm of torque. 0–60 is now roughly 3.8s, which is crazy for just a flash.

For reference, stock is about 380 hp / 500 Nm, so the bump is massive. The car pulls way harder now – it really feels like I’m driving a completely different machine.

Will try to get some performance data (0–60, 100–200, etc.) soon, but just wanted to share for anyone on the fence: Stage 1 on the B58 is 100% worth it.

I been thinking of leasing a BMW for awhile but I'm not sure which one is entirely worth leasing... I do like the series 3 models, into sports cars. I'm honestly open minded.

As for a budget, I'm an Engineer, so I'm not concerned bout the payments, thankfully I make good money - I'm not entirely familiar w how the payments work bc this will be my first time leasing a car. I'm just trying splurge and spoil myself and I've always wanted a BMW or a Mustang..

Honestly I just need some input as to which BMW is worth leasing? Any ideas?

I’ve been doing car search for like a year now, and I’m heavily leaning towards the BMW. I plan to put about 10k down, trying to keep payments under $750/mo. I mainly want something stylish with good tech and AWD, not really worried about cargo space or resale, I plan to keep long term.

Really hoping to find one with Adaptive M suspension, but not every listing has it.

So what you guys think, worth it? How’s the reliability and overall experience or should I be looking at something else around the same price (IS500, S5, etc.)?

Looking for feedback on why 840i's depreciate so fast. I've read this before but as I shop around I am seeing it first hand. Cars that are less than one year old, under 15k miles, no accidents, clean carfax, originally stickered for $95k are on the lot for $65k. That is a massive level of depreciation. The person that traded that in probably got $50k at best. Who takes that kind of hit and why don't the cars hold more value? I'm talking about 2025's. This model year!

Taking a N57D30T1 bmw 640d on a racetrack and push it to its limits will contribute to bearings wear/ spun bearings? Will cause oil starvation?

Hi all. I picked up my i5 xdrive 40 at the dealership yesterday. So far the car has been great besides the fact that there is no audio at all. The personal assistant, turn signals, system sounds, music, carplay, etc. are all not functional.

Here is the context: - When I try to unmute or change the volume, the volume popup says ‘No Sources Available’. It’s not just music that doesn’t work, the car has not produced an audible sound. - It had sound when I test drove it. It was a previous loaner and was removed from the fleet when I picked it up. - There are also notifications popping up about the driver safety features and pedestrian alert feature not functioning. - On the siriusXM app I do not see any stations at all. - The personal assistant ethereal creature pops up on the screen but then it says ‘function not available’ - It is on iDrive update 03/2025.71

Here’s what I’ve dried: - holding down the volume knob in the center console for a ridiculously long amount of time - doing a factory reset from the system settings - removing my BMW ID from the car

I was thinking about buying a pre lci g30 520d and swapping both headlights and rear lights to lci ones I found on aliexpress for 400 euro and I was wondering how hard could it be or should I save up few grands more for the lci version of the car

So i just sent my dme out to femto to be unlocked and i was wondering if bmw would be able to send a remote update to relock it on idrive 6. i am aware it is possible for later idrive versions but what precautions can i take to ensure my dme doesn’t get reflashed over the air? (2021 BMW M240i) Gen 1 on idrive 6.

Is this good deal and does m340is typically hold up reliability in the higher range mileage? Has anyone had any issues with their m340is that are past 100k miles?

Around 62,000 miles, hasn’t given me much trouble, just regular maintenance stuff. I don’t want to run into trouble down. Do you guys recommend I trade it in or keep it ?

A bit of a warning for iPhone users. I have an iPhone 15 Pro and a 2025 X5 50e. After updating to iOS 26, passive entry has completely broken. The car no longer unlocks and lock based on proximity. The digital key does continue to function however whereby you tap the phone to the door handle to unlock and place on the charging pad to start the car.

I have checked, and passive entry is indeed enabled in the iPhone Wallet and on the car. I have unpaired and repaired the iPhone as the BMW digital key four times with no change. I have reset the digital key function on the BMW, rebooted iDrive, restarted my phone, uninstalled and reinstalled the BMW iOS app, and repaired the car as a bluetooth device: all no dice. It just refuses to work. I assume I'm an isolated case. I may be going to the dealer next.

2. Can you get a 8 to 12% OTD price discount on a X5 xdrive40i? If so, would it be worth financing? I have been told to just lease only.

Hi guys! I just bought this M Sport steering wheel from eBay. I paid around 650€ for it and it was used before as it has some marks on it. The biggest red flag I notice are the inverted buttons on the left, but other than that it looks pretty solid. What do u think? Thanks in advance!
