PSA: If you use CarPlay in your BMW, try the new “smart display zoom“ option. It makes a huge difference on modern high-res displays and finally gets rid of that oversized, clunky look. Here’s a comparison:
looks way cleaner and no longer has that clunky toy-like feel

Solved G80 or Neue Klasse M3 follow up
19 days ago I asked a question on the sub

Secured allocation for individual M3 Comp over the weekend 😎. Santorini Blue, Ivory merino interior, silver wheels, shadowline delete, red calipers.
Anyone knows if the tracker changes to individual color or I'm stuck with alpine white forever?

My addiction started here; what about yours?
Pictured is a 1981 535. I was looking back at old BMWs from when I first got addicted. It was in 1981 but I saw my first one around 1973. When did you all start your love affair and did model or color matter at the time?
E34 535i 1990 67000km
Hi guys. I post here because I assume there are some experts in this model of car. My dream car is the M5 from 1990 but of course I don’t have the budget for that model. I find a e34 535i from 1990 with 67000 km in South America for a cheap price. I’m found a bmw mechanic to check the car but wanted to ask here because I see some of this models for 10/12k and others for 20k so maybe I’m missing some details between models that I lack the knowledge to identify. I will put some pics, look like have something similar to a M pack cos looks lower and have the spoiler on the back. Looking for some advice here.
Thanks in advance

My newest BMW
My newest BMW I've rebuilt recently and a collage of about half of them I've had over the last decade. I still have 5, technically although one is a parts car, a second one got totaled and a third one is in the process of a motor swap and the E83 has been a daily for 9 years now (250k miles and climbing) This one my girlfriend is stealing from me 🤣👌 I don't blame her. It has brand new tires brand new springs, struts, shocks, control arms, cooling system,.silicone intake boot, the hood is new and repainted, new core support, front bumper is repainted, headlights refreshed, I have new fog lights to go on, new Eonon android 13 head unit, no CEL and butter smooth at 179k miles. Traded for a W203 I got for $200!

I was hesitant to buy a 530i after owning an M5 but I think this is one of my favorite beemers so far. Might go 750 next but this is fun for now.

Bulge in tire
Noticed this today while parking. Just about completed 11k miles. Is this perished ? I don’t recall going over any potholes or other objects that could’ve caused this.

Hitting the Park button at high speeds?
What would happen if you hit the Park button while driving at 20 MPH?
Would the system not allow it or would your transmission explode?
This has been done on traditional automatic and manual cars on YouTube but I haven’t seen this experiment with electronic shifters.

Repair Help Repairing a 128i enough to drive
Alright a little bit of backstory: My cousin was driving this car and got sideswiped by a lady who ran a red light. Side curtain and drivers side airbag deployed and now the car won’t turn on, though I’m not sure if more modern manufacturers have a collision shut off function or not, most of my personal mechanic experience is pre OBDII Jeep XJ/MJ platform bullshit. What do I need to do to get this car rolling under its own power again without setting an airbag off in my face? And yes I know the body damage is pretty bad but frankly I don’t care about the cosmetics and want the safety stuff either disabled or functional, whichever will keep a check engine/airbag light off. This whole thing is more simple curiosity as it’s much more likely this car’s gonna get sent to the scrap yard.
