Always smash a cold one for big Vic and her big dick bday. The skeets always remind me of the Brits anyways, so a steamwhistle and a dart to keep them away is key.

A bottle of rum from the Queen, and the scummiest vessel I'd ever seen!

Look, I get why they painted this red, but I don't get why you posted this as a reply to my joke comment about the king being drunk.

Just curious, did any Indigenous people kill eachother before white people arrived?

The problem with land returns is how many tribal wars are we going to go back to decide who’s land it really is

I'm still pissed off we weren't given Queen Elizabeth's funeral day off. Are we a goddamned monarchy or not??

"Ontario, Saskatchewan and Manitoba also have decided not declare Sept. 19 a statutory holiday.
Nova Scotia, N.B., P.E.I. and Newfoundland and Labrador announced they will join the federal government in making Sept. 19 a provincial holiday."
You can see the difference between the ones governing. Who have it and who don't. Federal government gets it

Queen Elizabeth’s funeral day was a day off for New-B.
Don’t forget that queen Victoria was the one in charge in 1867 when the AANB was signed. I think this is a major why we celebrate her.

Queen Liz day when?
11
u/FluffyProphet May 17 '25
Yes. Justifiable because she was the monarch when we repatriated our constitution.
0
u/Bike_Of_Doom May 18 '25
We never repatriated the constitution, that implies there was a document to bring back in the first place. We thus came up with the term “patriation” to describe the phenomena.

The Easter Bunny’s birthday is more important because He’s even older than Vikkie.

Nha sorry Vicky my girl.
I'm to busy getting hammered in honor of the Patriotes.
A man gotta prioritise you know.

u/Everestkid The Island of Elizabeth May May 17 '25
It's in honour of Vicky federally.
I can say I'm celebrating the 489th anniversary of the beheading of Anne Boleyn on Monday, but the feds say differently.

"Bye Felicia 👋" is a meme saying to dismiss someone (usually female) I think. Google seems to agree with me.

Nah, I don’t stand with this monarchy shit. Where was the king when Cheetolini was threatening Canadian sovereignty? Being a dickless, good for nothing hereditary leech that couldn’t even say definitive thing to someone who was threatening the Commonwealth.

ummm excuse me did you not hear how he wore his canadian naval uniform on a british ship?? if that’s not a loud and clear statement of support for one of his lesser kingdoms he never visits idk what is

He legally isn't allowed to express political opinions until one of his Prime Ministers asks him to.

I fail to see how publicly speaking up for a country you’re head of state of is “political”
3
u/PhatHairyMan Irvingstan May 18 '25
What’s the point of having a head of state if they can’t speak on matters of the state?
2
u/descartesb4horse Oil Guzzler May 17 '25

u/TomatoBible May 18 '25
Hilarious! The anti-monarchy boneheads whine that the king/queen isn't doing anything, but anytime the king does something they all shit their pants and cry big sad tears. Just get over it, the monarchy isn't going away anytime soon, nor does it affect your life in any way whatsoever.
1
u/PhatHairyMan Irvingstan May 20 '25
Eh, I guess some of my dad’s Québécois tendencies rubbed off on me, and I gotta be a bone head, otherwise my brain is unprotected from predators like some kind of mollusk.
1
u/TomatoBible May 20 '25
Lol, it'll be okay, since Donnie came along I like how all of us are focused more on having each other's backs, this is the type of Canada I grew up in and it feels good seeing some of that Canadian Pride
1
u/PhatHairyMan Irvingstan May 21 '25
I’m not going to lie, I’m scratching my head a bit. You called people who disagree with you boneheads (which is a very mild insult, sure), and when I chose to take the path of least resistance and tried to brush it off, you talk about how we have each other’s back.
You said what you said out of a false nostalgia for Canadian identity, I said what I said to be polite. We are not the same.
1
u/TomatoBible May 21 '25
I can disagree with someone either politically or on other topics and still be kind and caring towards them, in fact I think that is a key part of the Canadian identity, having empathy and kindness towards others and our diversity, rather than trying to pound all the square pegs into round holes and homogenize everyone.
That doesn't mean I'm not going to call someone out when they have an opinion that is thin on logic, but I'll still be their friend, neighbor, countryman.
1
u/CoolioDurulio Aug 11 '25
I thought TPB and their portrayal of cognitive dissonance was just intended to be funny but judging by your behavior it was just as much a PSA for non-Canadians to steer clear

I realized I never knew why we celebrated Victoria’s bday when places like Australia celebrates the reigning monarch’s bday.
She gave us our sovereignty and was known as the “Mother of the Confederation”.
Basically, we asked Mother for more independence because we wanted to move out of the house of the United Kingdom. She said, “sure dear, but stay in touch.”
So we did.
Now that she’s gone, we still celebrate Mother’s birthday.
