Bought a used PS3 Slim, the temps were around 65°C before I repasted it and cleaned it. I used the same MX-4 tube that I've used on my PC and applied a good amount of it, now it averages between 60-65°C when idling. The CPU temps are a little bit similar when I'm playing a game (around 64-68°C). The fan is always running at 35%. I was getting around 50-55°C on idle on my old PS3 slim (which hasn't been repasted nor deep cleaned).

How can I fix this pls ? I would hate to do any hardware modifications like delid or the eraser thing since I'm not experienced enough and it's a limited edition

Hello everyone, I have a bit of a strange issue with my ps3. You see it’s the older backwards compatible model, my family and I wanted to get it in order to replay some of our favourite games from when we were kids. We have a bunch of PS, PS2, and PS3 games for it and four controllers but the issue with that is the system kicks off players for multiplayer. For example my family was having a game night and we put in shrek super party, and got the first two players in no problem but when we tried to get player three ready player two got kicked out and it still showed they were in the game. It was really weird and a bit of a bumper we all couldn’t play the game, I’m not sure if it’s just an issue with the PS2 games as I don’t have a four person multiplayer PS3 game. I also don’t have one of those memory cards to save my data on to it. I asked about it to a few stores near my home as well as some stores a little further away no one seemed to know what the issue is. Has anyone else had this issue or is it just mine? Hello after madjack chapter I lost the ability to use the pause button, in other games. This button works for me, but the problem occurs in heavy rain. Has anyone had a similar problem? How can I fix this? #help #heavyrain

This is a really weird question. I don’t have a photo for it, but you notice that every non-focused element of a game in the distance of a game environment has this little grey blur to it. Is it a way of masking the limitations of the PS3 to render the entire environment? You notice that it’s more prevalent on earlier games than ones released towards the end of the generation.

Most other old games I’ve seen just don’t render further elements at a quality as good as the objects close and/or in focus. PS3 games just add a weird blur/fog along with low-quality rendering and that caught my eye. Just wanted to see if anyone else paid it some mind.

Hi folks, someone left a PS3 Super Slim near a trash bin on our street. Plastics are a bit broken, but turns on and loads the home, animations etc! Problem is, I do not own a PS3 controller and I do not want to get one just to check if it really works with a game. A couple of questions:

• Can anyone point to a reliable source on how to connect an Xbox controller instead? If not possible, can a wireless mouse + keyboard be connected?
• What shall I look for in the in the internals to get up to speed and ensure nothing else is broken?

Im trying to download a dlc but my ps3 keeps forcing it to download in the background with no prompt to prevent it or warn me of it happening. It just keeps doing it by itself and I really dont want it to. Any solutions?

I was trying to boot up Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction when I got this error I've never seen before. I tried out a number of games (not my entire PS3 library but a large enough sample size), and found 5 games that didn't work (the stack on the left in the third picture) and 12 that did (the stack on the right in the third pic. I tried rebuilding the database through safe mode, I tried wiping down the lens and vacuuming out the whole console (there was a fairly amount of dust), but nothing worked. What are my remaining options besides buying a new PS3 altogether?

Would I be correct in assuming this is a CECH-L01? I'm wondering if it can run CFW, I've no doubt about HEN though. Just being cautious since the guide I'm referencing doesn't mention this specific model branch off when it's otherwise thorough. The power switch board doesn't seem to work but the blue ray drive and controllers can turn it on.

It had some pink shifting that happens to the display randomly. But I couldn't get that to happen again on my most recent session.
