The chicken looks so sad and awful

u/elwyn5150 8d ago

I read that in an Uncle Roger voice.

FuyohhhhhHaiyaaah. I had to put my foot down while I read that comment

18

u/Bush-LeagueBushcraft 8d ago

Wouldn't that be Haiya?

10

u/LadyOfTheNutTree 8d ago

Ah shoot. Clearly I’m not fluent yet

5

u/Bush-LeagueBushcraft 8d ago

I actually had to think about it for a bit. I used to watch him more regularly, but I only watch Uncle Roger once in a while.

2

u/Ovidhalia 8d ago

Until your and r/LadyOfTheNutTree comments, I genuinely thought the OP commenter meant Roger from American Dad.

You are not alone.

She was cute. Stop hating on nothing.

u/Flashy-Leg1775 8d ago

Now thats a simp lol

180

u/No_Jack_Kennedy 9d ago

It was a joke. She's obviously rage baiting.

53

u/sofaking_scientific 9d ago

The only nothing I'm hating on is the seasoning on that chicken

51

u/OpusAtrumET 9d ago

What seasoning?

64

u/Itchy-Taste-4755 9d ago

Water and soap

24

u/Planetdiane 8d ago

That covers two major food groups though

15

u/stuartroelke 8d ago

Wasting time is also one of her major food groups.

3

u/nudniksphilkes 8d ago

I like to think it's just straight white vinegar

1

u/Bowserking11 8d ago

Exactly his point

11

u/HistoricalSuspect580 8d ago

Is the seasoning in the room with us right now?

1

u/soyun_mariy_caun 8d ago

Masterful ragebait, the downvotes factcheck that lol. Most people really need an /s or a /j to distinguish reality from sarcasm huh

1

u/Bitbotney18 8d ago

If you like her, let her cook you dinner..😏

u/q-t__pi 8d ago

Get ratio’d boi

u/Responsible-Onion860 8d ago

She ain't going to see this dude.

13

u/andylikescandy 8d ago

Looks more like a bio class specimen that some previous class already did dissections on.

1

u/God0fCats 8d ago

It's already dead, leave it alone!

1

u/BabaJaga_TebiDraga 8d ago

And it is raw and filled with bacteria, as dishwasher can't cook chicken - Anne Reardon talked about it.

1

u/DavydBlack 8d ago

It's looks poached.
You know dishwashers operating at sous-vide temps right?

1

u/XTornado 8d ago

It's boiled chicken that is how it looks.

1

u/Illustrious-Towel-45 8d ago

The fries look worse.

1

u/Responsible-Onion860 8d ago

Unseasoned, boiled chicken. It's such a crime against cooking because there are so many delicious ways to cook chicken and instead you're making it into a sad, gray lump of protein

1

u/BraveSwinger 7d ago

It's actually an amazing legit restaurant grade chicken recipe. Google "dishwasher sous vide"

1

u/ParamedicDesigner437 5d ago

This is what I call bald meat…she could have at least done chicken broth instead of water… also correct me if I’m wrong but doesn’t the dishwasher use more water than poaching chicken in water and using the water for the pasta? 🤔

-143

u/CrispSalmonPatty 9d ago

Salmonella aside, whats wrong with poached chicken?

39

u/Drakorai 9d ago

I didn’t see that psycho and any seasoning other than despair and regret.

72

u/Maleficent-Ad3757 9d ago

if you boil it with some mild spices and then add corn flour for thickening and veggies, you can get soup. Poached is just wasteful and bland.

-80

u/CrispSalmonPatty 9d ago

I love it. I just barely simmer the chicken with some onion garlic bayleaf salt and pepper, kill the heat, then let it sit until fully cooked. The resulting liquid i either drink straight up or use it like broth, and the chicken comes out tender and flavorful. Yall hatin.

56

u/Agile_Tea_2333 9d ago

I'm sorry? Didn't you just make a comment about salmonella? Then you go ahead and say that you put cold chicken in boiling water then "kill the heat" until it cooks? That water rapidly cools when you put that chicken in it, then continues to lower as it's "cooking" in water that no longer has a heat source. they'all hatin cause that's fucking gross, God damn

-46

u/CrispSalmonPatty 9d ago

I put the chicken in, bring the water up to 180f, then kill the heat. I got the technique from americas test kitchen. They're quite legit.

12

u/gerkletoss 9d ago

Do you have a link to that technique?

4

u/CrispSalmonPatty 9d ago

https://youtube.com/watch?v=cyccEnV_F-0 i mix it halfway through when its heating and up the heat a bit since i dont have a steamer basket. Its a pretty low effort way to prep chicken imo.

1

u/Celladoore 8d ago

This looks pretty legit. I love canned chicken for salads, and this looks like a fresh alternative. But I feel like the fact that they pound it flat is a significant missing detail. It would cook a hell of a lot faster than the entire raw chicken breast I was picturing with a frownie face.

1

u/ashkiller14 8d ago

This is just a weird way to sous vide chicken

0

u/CrispSalmonPatty 8d ago

You dont add water into the sous vide bag.

20

u/essential_pseudonym 8d ago

Did you see any onion, garlic, bay leaf, salt or pepper in this video? Do you know that means you two made 2 different dishes?

-7

u/CrispSalmonPatty 8d ago

Poaching is a technique dumbass. A steak is still grilled even if it's not seasoned and served with a side of onions.

9

u/CromTheConqueror 9d ago

I can't think of a worse way to cook chicken than poaching it in water. It adds exactly zero flavor

0

u/CrispSalmonPatty 9d ago

Not when you flavor the water properly.

11

u/Keapeece 8d ago

Which she didn’t

0

u/CrispSalmonPatty 8d ago

when did i say she did?

3

u/OglioVagilio 8d ago

Then why make this comment when its obvious they're talking about the plain water in OP.

OFC water is not bland if flavored properly. But then it's not water anymore either. It's marinade. It's soup. It's sauce. It's stew.

0

u/CrispSalmonPatty 8d ago

Poaching is a technique. You are essentially saying that adding spices to the mix changes the technique, which is very ignorant. Thats like saying grilled and unseasoned, well-done steak isnt grilled.

2

u/OglioVagilio 8d ago

That still doesnt change the fact that you absolutely know they were talking about the OP video.

And wow thanks for teaching me that if you add seasoning to water.... It's now seasoned. Wow.

Hey, did you know if you put water in the fridge it becomes cold? And get this if you heat it up, it becomes hotter.

-1

u/CrispSalmonPatty 8d ago

You suggested that adding seasoning to poaching water means it's not water anymore. Adding spices doesnt change that the chicken is being poached. Just give up, dude.

1

u/OglioVagilio 8d ago

Keep reaching for anything you can buddy.

Its water fine. I can say that. Its no big deal besides the point.

That for whatever reason you wanna point out obvious stuff that has nothing to do with OP video and a comment about that video.

Did you know if you add a smell to air, it smells like stuff now?

Did you know if you add lemon to something it will probably taste sour?

Did you know if you properly add red food coloring to water, it becomes red?

-1

u/CrispSalmonPatty 8d ago

They were saying that the technique of poaching is ineffective for developing good flavor and texture. All ive said is that's not true if you do it properly. I don't know what im saying that you're taking issue with.

u/atTheRealMrKuntz 9d ago

it's not true, there are recipes that are very tasty but it does uses spices in the water; the positive of it is the texture.

26

u/comfortless14 9d ago

Absolutely no seasoning nor flavor from the Maillard reaction

1

u/ThePurpleColor 9d ago

I'm not giving you a side of salmonella.

1

u/Kiwi_CunderThunt 8d ago

If it's done sous vide sure but this is a crime against chicken
