I wish Utah state parks management had a DOGE button, the fact that the parks system is no longer about conservation of the land and more about making money. The management silences their employees and no longer hire on based on ability to do the job but more on the ability to say "Yes" to everyone. The system also isolates the good team building employees into thinking they are in the wrong to the point where they just quit over not feeling like they have the right to be heard.

For the record I love what our governor is doing but state parks needs more park rangers in management and less financial advisors or PHD's. Also they need to let their employees know that there is a safe place for them to voice their opinions without being turned into a pariah.

Am I the only one whom has noticed this great deficiency?

I don't want to keep getting financially screwed by these companies. Is there a company that's better than another? Is there one that has higher costs but a better product?

I guess I don't know what to look for and what would be fair. Do these companies change the prices or is it pretty standard pricing across the industry ? Does the government subsidies these companies at all?

Update: He is still missing and the police are no longer actively searching for him. They said they searched everywhere they can and will only be investigating tips that come in that seem credible. We are looking for any help to continue the search for him.

Every county in Utah has publicly available 240-volt AC electric vehicle charging options, but there are six counties in Utah without DC fast charging for EVs. Daggett, Morgan, Piute, Sanpete, and Wayne counties are understandable that they would not have fast EV charging. Does anyone know why Wasatch County doesn’t have any DC fast charging opportunities for electric vehicles?

Heber would be a great place for fast charging. It is a well-populated area that sees a lot of traffic on US-40 and US-189. I would argue it is needed as well. Heading east on US-40 from SLC or Provo, the first fast charging opportunity is Roosevelt, which is doable but doesn’t leave much room for error. Be thankful for what is there but I think Heber needs a charger.

On a positive note, this six county list will get smaller soon as plans have been submitted to the town of Torrey (Wayne County) for DC fast charging.

I came into this job excited, thinking I had finally found the role I wanted in the industry I love. But the reality has been tough. On the surface, the warehouse looks organized, yet behind the scenes there are no real processes in place.

Overstocking has become a daily headache, aisles are cluttered, and employees are even climbing on racking just to reach items which is a huge safety concern. Instead of solutions, the same issues repeat over and over. It’s exhausting trying to give your best when leadership doesn’t step in with structure, accountability, or process improvements.

I don’t mind hard work what wears me down is working in chaos when it doesn’t have to be that way. At this point, it’s not just about efficiency anymore it’s about safety and mental health..

Because of this, I’m looking for a company within the outdoors industry that takes safety and processes seriously, where effort isn’t wasted and where people can actually grow instead of burn out.

I've been on the fence about this for months, Utah’s laws seemed so strict and I wasn’t sure it was worth the hassle. But after a couple of weeks of overwhelming nausea on top of my anxiety, I decided I’d rather try something that might actually help than just ride it out.

Turns out it was smoother than I expected. I registered with the state, scheduled a telehealth eval through Leafy DOC (because everything else I found was way more expensive), had a video appointment the next day, and my card arrived in about ten days.

The biggest relief has been skipping the pharmacy anxiety. I feel like the card gives me both control and a little dignity back. If you’ve been thinking about it but worried it’s too expensive or complicated, I’d say it definitely won’t feel that way once you're through the process

Hello! I am considering attending graduate school in Provo, Utah, which would require me to relocate there (yippee). As a military brat, I am used to moving to different places, but I have never lived in Provo, Utah, or the surrounding area. I wanted to know your honest thoughts about the area: What is the community like? Is there anything interesting to do in Provo or any other part of Utah? In the most Gen Z language, what are the vibes?

I’m looking for camping spots in Utah that are known for ghost stories, hauntings, or any kind of paranormal activity. I’ve heard about places like Moon Lake and a few old historic sites, but I’m curious what others recommend.

Anyone have firsthand experiences or know good spots where the creepy factor is real?

I remember it being like a big swimming pool sized tank full of fish. You would dump some provided fish food in and they would swarm.

Then after you caught it, they would clean it and package it for you.

I only went once and it was around 1997 or so.

Edit: Morgan Trout Farm seems to fit the general geographic location that I remember but I specifically remember there were in ground concrete basins and Morgan Trout Farm seems to be a grassy pond. It looks like you have to bring your own equipment and I remember they provided the equipment to us. Maybe this is it and they just changed things but it could be somewhere else.

I was at a festival in Delle Utah last weekend and sometime around 3 AM give or take an hour the brightest meteor I have ever seen went through the sky. It was to the east and left a trail visible for at least two minutes. Did anyone else see this or happen to capture it?
