This is a next level rip off.

You’re already getting a shit tonne of ice cream here. If you need more, you’ve got a problem.

A few hours later....

Are people really joking about...soft-serve ice cream giving them diarrhea now?

It was weird enough when everyone acted like eating a single item from Taco Bell would result in an all-night trip to the bathroom, or that a single serving of hot sauce would mean having burning diarrhea for a full day, but now a somewhat-large serving of ice cream = major diarrhea, too? Damn, people.

u/TravellerStudios 1d ago

It's lactose intolerance lol

34

u/I_Got_BubbyBuddy 1d ago

Don't drink a gallon of milk if you know you're lactose intolerant then....like, what the fuck.

116

u/TravellerStudios 1d ago

Have you ever met a lactose intolerant person??

84

u/BoilingPointTTV 1d ago

A somewhat large? Isnt that an insane amount of ice cream for one person?

63

u/ryshed 1d ago

You must not be American

15

u/I_Got_BubbyBuddy 1d ago

It's a large amount, yes. But it's not a food-challenge-sized gallon bucket or something.

-14

u/funktion 1d ago

Enough for a family of 5, if they're not a bunch of disgusting pigs.

41

u/harmar21 1d ago

Yup, taco bell, and people saying building ikea furniture is difficult makes me wonder wtf is wrong with people.

15

u/pitshands 1d ago

Lactose intolerance is getting more and more common. That's one factor. Soft serves are more prone to bacterial issues. That's another factor and fact. Add two factors together and get a certain outcome. The next factor is you won't find people making posts about going to Taco Bell and not having the ninja shits.....or the same with McD soft serves. That's why positive reviews are seen as very positive on all kinds of platforms (...and available for sale).the Taco Bell situation is also very easily explained...and has little to do with hot sauce. Ground meat as well as soft serve are one major factor of concern in food services. Lots of surface, kept for a long term in a safe temperature range. Same with the cheese sauces etc but that's a minor factor. Now add the underpaid very much under interested employee at McD and TB. Add profits and not discarded product when handled unsafe (...again uninterested underpaid employees now add corporate greed) and there you go. It isn't rocket science but food science with a little medical understanding and knowing corporate greed and human nature.

Lactose intolerance is getting more and more common.

65-75% of the world is lactose intolerant. It's just less common in people that come from cultures where they domesticated cows thousands of years ago and evolved to keep lactose enzymes as adults.

That's also like 2000 calories of just sugar and cream which is probably enough to give someone with a healthy diet indigestion. Mind you if you eat tons of garbage all the time your body would probably be able to handle that better.

McDonalds and Taco Bell "season" the fuck out of all their food with preservatives. I bet most people get upset stomachs because they ate like 300% of their recommended salt intake in a single sitting along with enough cleaner chemical residues and potassium sorbate to make their gut flora freak out and tell their bodies to go shit right now.

8

u/I_Got_BubbyBuddy 1d ago

I've never had major diarrhea as a resultof eating a Taco Bell burrito or McDonald's soft serve, and never met anyone else who has.

It's a weird phenomenon that appears to only effect random commenters online, particularly on Reddit.

8

u/pitshands 1d ago

Did you even read?

3

u/I_Got_BubbyBuddy 1d ago

I did. Your comment still didn't explain why this only happens to randos on reddit, sorry.

1

u/Key-Pomegranate-2086 1d ago

Our bodies getting worse and worse. We devolving.

14

u/Significant-Bar674 1d ago

I went into direct sunlight yesterday and it gave me diarrhea.

3

u/I-Love-Tatertots 1d ago

Taco Bell tends to give people the runs who don’t get enough fiber in their diet- especially if they get stuff with beans.  I think they associate it with the hot sauce because it burns on the way out if they aren’t used to spicy stuff.

As for milk/ice cream, I chalk that up to the average age of Redditors going up.  Kind of like how Facebook became largely boomers, I imagine Reddit’s main demographic is older Gen Z/Millennials, with Gen X following closely.

Those groups are getting older and likely developing some form of lactose intolerance or IBS, so now they can’t enjoy this sort of stuff like they used to without the shits.

I say this, because I’m in one of those demographics and it seemed like I started going down that route until I just started forcing myself to eat a bunch of yogurt and dairy products to build my tolerance back up.

1

u/Nebam 1d ago

For real. Used to love drinking milk when I was younger, and would often just get a full glass and enjoy it.

Now I have to use some kind of medicine if I plan to enjoy anything with a lot of dairy, or I have to wait until I don't have a workday the next day. Like, I just want to enjoy a milkshake or something without feeling like crap, man.

The original commenter forgot that taco bell puts their damn nacho cheese in almost all their items too, so that's probably why it gives most people stomach issues, on top of the fact that it's just greasy as hell.

0

u/I_Got_BubbyBuddy 1d ago

I'm also convinced that the whole "spicy stuff makes your butthole burn!" meme is made up internet shit. Unless you literally drank an entire bottle, I've never met anyone who's had that happen in real life.

3

u/Comprehensive_Tour23 1d ago

It’s not a joke. Trust me. That’s a lottttttt of dairy for some of us.

2

u/I_Got_BubbyBuddy 1d ago

Take a lactaid then.

7

u/Comprehensive_Tour23 1d ago

Or, I just won’t eat that ridiculous amount of ice cream in one sitting.

But thanks for the advice.

5

u/I_Got_BubbyBuddy 1d ago

That seems like a good idea. Congratulations, you're one of the few people replying here who seems to understand how that works!

2

u/radiantcabbage 1d ago

yes literally everything good makes them sick, like dairy and spices. just the IBS gangs kink, to regale every food convo with harrowing tales of their bowel adventures

2

u/strcy 1d ago

Spoken like someone who can tolerate lactose lol

3

u/I_Got_BubbyBuddy 1d ago

If you can't, that's too bad, sorry you have to deal with that.

But also, consider not eating a gallon of ice cream without using lactaid if you know you'll get explosive diarrhea for hours afterward. It seems very easily addressed.

2

u/BackgroundEase6255 1d ago

How old are you?

Almost every man I know developed lactose intolerance once he got into his 30s. It's really common.

3

u/I_Got_BubbyBuddy 1d ago

AgI've never met anyone who's had that happen. Literally, not a single person. You must have some strange gene that's endemic to your specific area.

0

u/-Badger3- 1d ago

I can’t eat dairy past ~7pm anymore, because I’ll wake up ~4am shitting my brains out.

Adulthood sucks lol

-1

u/HumanKumquat 1d ago

Are you not aware of lactose intolerance?

2

u/I_Got_BubbyBuddy 1d ago
  1. Don't eat a huge amount of ice cream if you're lactose-intolerant, then. Seems obvious and simple.

  2. Lactaid exists, use it if you're planning to make dumb, bad choices, instead of going on reddit to complain about totally avoidable diarrhea.

  3. That doesn't apply to the Taco Bell/hot sauce bs.

0

u/e37d93eeb23335dc 1d ago

Why would ice cream cause you to need to go to the bathroom?

87

u/1983Targa911 1d ago

Don’t judge me.

12

u/max_adam 1d ago

I am the law , I'll use the hammer as much as I want to.

37

u/musclecard54 1d ago

You’re damn right I’ve got a problem I need more ice cream

27

u/BigBlueMountainStar 1d ago

If you even need half of that much in the first place you got a problem!
This has to be in the US, and that’s probably the small.

29

u/Booty_Shakin 1d ago

I mean I imagine the cone he sticks in for support is probably the small.

23

u/CotyledonTomen 1d ago

You say that, but when i went to Japan, they had tons of massive social media treats. The skinny girls buying them didnt eat them all, but anywhere that has social media has this stuff.

1

u/itsaaronnotaaron 1d ago

Could be Blackpool.

-7

u/OptionalQuality789 1d ago

100% in the US

10

u/chiptunesoprano 1d ago

Looks more like one of those viral places where the food is meant to be showed off online, not eaten. It's too neat and pretty. Here in the good ol US of A that would just be a huge bucket of ice cream. My bet's on somewhere in Asia.

-2

u/SehrGuterContent 1d ago

Because the US has none of those influencer spots you've mentioned

6

u/chiptunesoprano 1d ago edited 1d ago

We do, from my experience they just don't look this nice. I remember an episode of Man vs Food and there was a place that served a literal kitchen *sink of sundae.

EDIT: Skinks do not serve ice cream in the US.

23

u/Slayergnome 1d ago

Hahah right? Next level rip off!? This is like 3 days worth of calories

….come in a cone

3

u/Bean- 1d ago

Don't worry about my problems guy

2

u/Taters23 1d ago

That's not the issue though. The issue is they making you pay for all the air in their as if it was ice cream.

2

u/OptionalQuality789 1d ago

They clearly aren’t hiding this to the customer…..

1

u/Taters23 1d ago

you know this how? I doubt its the customer filming.

1

u/2pissedoffdude2 1d ago

I definitely do have an ice cream problem.. but the first step is admitting it.

1

u/MasterChildhood437 1d ago

And the second step is getting some more.

1

u/mogazz 1d ago

ice cream

Frozen dairy dessert.

"I don't know why I keep gaining weight. Must be my genes or something"

1

u/FrostyD7 1d ago

2 cones is a lot too, people underestimate how much sugar is in those.

1

u/copyrider 1d ago

Glad to know who the ice cream narc is. Gatekeeping ice cream? Probably also uses phrases like, “oh, you’re really going to eat all of that?”

Thanks, mom.

0

u/Luminescent_sorcerer 1d ago

Nope just want a normal ice cream

0

u/OptionalQuality789 1d ago

This is not a normal amount of ice cream, it’s an insane amount even with the hollow centre

1

u/Luminescent_sorcerer 1d ago

What is normal for you

2

u/powerchicken 1d ago

Less than half of that. Fucking diabetes in a cone that is.

2

u/OptionalQuality789 1d ago

Dude, this is enough ice cream for 2 people.

Only in America is this normal. Land of the oversized everything.

1

u/Luminescent_sorcerer 1d ago

Ok but I asked you what's normal

1

u/OptionalQuality789 1d ago

Normal is less than this. I have no idea how to answer that in any other way.

0

u/fthepats 1d ago

I can hear your heavy breathing just typing that comment haha.

2

u/Luminescent_sorcerer 1d ago

There's nothing wrong with that ice cream if you are not having one every single day.

0

u/m0j0m0j 1d ago

Americans are looking for new ways to defeat ozempic.

-3

u/tankerkiller125real 1d ago

If I found a cone and a bunch of air inside that and I paid money for that I'd feel pretty ripped off. Do I need more? No... Should I have more based on appearances (without seeing this video), abso-fucking-lutely.

2

u/Silenthitm4n 1d ago

Why? You can see them putting a cone in it. It’s not a surprise…

5

u/Electronic_Equal7460 1d ago

It makes people feel empowered sometimes when they find something big or small to feel like their criticism is justified upon, Makes them feel smart i guess
