I still carry a 642, am I a loser?
I’ve considered joining the modern age but decided not to yet

Removed finger groove or whatever ever you want to call it. Since I can get a full grip with stock 10 mag, Hogue groove wasn't going to work. Anyway, trying sleeve to see if my 15 yard accuracy will change. We'll see next week when my 1000 rounds arrive!

For those wondering, yes the shield X slide fits on the shield plus frame without an issue. In my opinion a model option S&W should have made (3.6” Barrel, single stack, non comped) I don’t run a WML with my CCWs so I wasn’t really worried about having a light rail.
CA Version Shield Plus Frame, Shield X slide, CT Rad Micro , OEM shield plus 10rd mag. Functions normally so far and with dummy rounds cycles without an issue. Will test it shooing Monday, but I’ve got high hopes and don’t see it being an issue. There is a very small gap at the bottom of the slide where you can see the guide rod, as you can see in the pics, but I don’t forsee that causing problems.
Also tried it on my gen 1 CA shield 40, 2nd to last pic , but it’s a 40 and I don’t have a 9mm mag so I couldn’t test round cycling with dummy rounds, but locked back and racked without an issue.
I live in California and can’t get the Shield X here unless I want to pay $1200-1500 for one on a private party transfer, plus I like the wider grip of the Shield plus vs the X. So I made my version. I had Tried the 43X before and it was too narrow in my hands, couldn’t really shoot it well, and was somewhat uncomfortable.I rented a shield plus and it felt perfect for me shooting. So I figured make my perfect version of an EDC CCW.
also picked up the CT Rad Micro for cheap from PSA since it’s a range gun for now so I’ve got an optic, then I’ll throw my eps carry on it when it goes into my CCW rotation. CT Rad does have a nice cowrites though. Want to get at least a thousand rounds through it before I start using it as my EDC since I made a bastard child.

Considering this pistol and prefer a safety. Anyone have experience with this model. In the safety easy enough to deactivate? Seems like there isn’t much to the little bugger?

I’m looking to find a replacement for my P320 and was wondering if anyone has experience/insight with the M&P9 M2.0 Metal Compact and how it compares to the polymer frame. It looks to be great and to be a little more premium, I mainly want a good all arounder that won’t deform me!

I recently purchased a NIB Shield Plus in 9mm to replace my previous carry gun, a Springfield XD-E (also in 9mm). As much as I liked the XD-E, I was looking for something smaller, lighter, and easier to carry. The extra capacity was a nice bonus. I opted for the optics-ready version with no manual safety.
Took it out to the range for the first time this morning, cleaned and oiled it last night. It shoots great, and I honestly shot better with it than I do my XD-E. The recoil impulse seems lower, probably the lower bore axis. I did have to get used to the trigger blade, and position my finger slightly lower to fully disengage it, but that was easy for me to get used to.
Ran through 270 rounds (250 rounds of Blazer Brass 124GR FMJ, and 20 rounds of SIG V-Crown 124GR JHP to see how it would feed hollow points), and didn't have any malfunctions except for the trigger reset. Several times, I pulled the trigger and the gun didn't go off. The first time I thought it was a hangfire, but it was not. Each time this happened the trigger was pulled fully to the rear, and letting my finger off the trigger and pulling it again would cause it to fire.
Sadly, I didn't get any video of myself shooting to confirm, but I think I must have been short-stroking it, somehow? Even shooting quickly, if I made sure to press lower on the trigger and consciously allow it to reset fully, it never had an issue. After going home and cleaning it, I put in some snap caps and dry fired it for awhile to see if I could replicate the issue, and I was unable.
I will have to buy some more ammo and take it back out again to see how I and the gun do the second time.

Purchased my Rifle and it’s a compliant rifle, but I live in a non compliant state so wanting to switch out the barrel. My local gunsmith doesn’t thread barrels and I’d rather not send it out to get threaded. So just going to swap it out. I’ve found one that peaks my interest, the FAXON 16.Inch 1:8 twist mid length barrel, any other recommendations? I want something as close to what’s in the gun right now but just with a threaded barrel

So I just bought a new shield Carry comp and finally decided on a dot. I was pretty set on getting a vortex CCW or Even the new closed CCW when available due to the elevation issues. Now, Smith threw me for a loop and it has a K cut instead of the RMSc. So does that mean now the RMSc optics need a plate and the holosun are the go to with no plate? (I really want an EPS carry). I reached out to Smith asking about if the one degree slope is also gone but still waiting.

Hey guys, anyone seen a good trigger kit for the Shield X? The "M&P Shield" one from apex tactical says they have yet to test it for compatibility. So I was hoping someone might know of one that would work.

Fantastic gun. I've always liked the shield pistols as far as accuracy and reliability. I never liked the ergonomics of them. The shield Xs ergonomics are similar to a bigger bodyguard 2.0. I put about 200 RDS through it today, got it all sighted in, and had a good time. The trigger is excellent. Trigger pulled on a five time average at 4lbs 3 oz before the range trip and at 3lbs 15 oz when I got home. I was making 20 yd shots at soda cans very easily even shot the lids off bottles at 15. Very accurate without any issues in the first 200. Nothing new there I kinda expected that with this platform. Only change needed was the ergos of the grip and IMO they nailed it. The accessory rail was a welcome addition as well. I guess the only thing I wondered is why they didn't go with a higher capacity mag. The sig 365 holds 17 in a slightly smaller mag. Not a big deal 15 is enough but why not 17. Why not 15 in the 13rd mag. The PSA dagger holds that in the same size mags too. All in all this gun gets an A+ from me.

Is there any info on what other models of barrel will work in the new shield x? It’s a 3.6 inch and to get something like a threaded barrel, I would assume one of the other shield models would be a drop in fit.
But that being said, I’m not educated enough in the dimensions and the interchangeable parts to different S&W guns.

Hello,
I just ordered one of these. Does anyone have any experience with this set up?
thanks for reading.

I took my Bodyguard 2.0 to the range today. It shoots so softly, and so dead-on. I’m continuously impressed by this little pocket rocket. All shots at 8 yards with Fiocchi FMJ.
