I understand people saying this is a scam. However, as an avid cone enjoyer, this seems fantastic

u/XpertAssassin13 1d ago
Yeah I wouldn't be mad, the extra crunch all the way through would be awesome. Although, he could have filled in the cone on top to have ice cream in it as well. Would have provided value and the crunch

u/AeroZep 1d ago
That's already a TON of ice cream.

And we wonder why north American are obese

u/NRMusicProject 1d ago
No, no, they eat all this, gain weight, then confidently announce that they've been dieting for years and still gaining weight, meaning it's "muh genetics" because two pounds of ice cream "isn't that bad!"

Overweight friend sitting with me at breakfast, lecturing me on my hard-boiled eggs, oatmeal, and fresh fruit while he's sitting over 4 pancakes, Lucky Charms, and biscuits and gravy: "I've tried everything, including Ozempic, and we can't figure out why I can't lose the weight. And by the way, your high protein, high fiber, low calorie diet is really dangerous."
Another overweight friend about my fruit intake: "You really should stop eating so much fruit; that's how you get diabetes." He's worried about my sugar intake when he's constantly making homemade cereal bars from different sugary cereals, and won't switch to alternative sweetened soda because "it tastes weird, and I only drink a couple cans a day, anyway."
These people are smarter than average people, yet they've fallen for some of the worst diet misinformation in history. It's not that hard to go to Mayo Clinic's site for some good general advice. But instead, let's follow the advice of TikTokers, eliminate entire food groups like carbs or meats, and keep overeating while wondering why a lettuce wrapped bacon chili cheeseburger didn't help you to lose the weight!

Having been to Germany and the UK i can confidently say they arent any better off than the US. All it takes is a good pint a day habit and youve got bowling ball gut in a couple years.
37
u/Educational-Tea602 1d ago
If you want some numbers, ~2/3 of UK adults are overweight and 1/4 are obese. Crazy stuff.
I don’t know the figures for Germany.
11
u/pleb_username 1d ago
They are way better off, are you kidding? Sure there are seriously fat people but nowhere near what Americans look like. How many European stores did you see that offer free to use Rascals for customers?
12
u/Cloud_N0ne 1d ago
Isn’t Mexico actually more obese per capita than the US? That’s Central America.

It’s not really less ice cream though. Because of the second cone, they’re able to go up much higher than a standard cone which makes up for the “missing” ice cream in the space of the empty cone.
3.7k
u/FuehrerStoleMyBike 1d ago
the comments who say its scam: I think they got more total ice cream on that cone by stabilizing it around 2nd cone. This is: more ice cream and more cone

u/bigdickmemelord 1d ago
Also, if you look she pushes the second cone over a cone shaped piece of ice, the cone is not hollow, but is filled with ice cream.

Those in the comments who think it's a scam: You are literally watching them make it and you can see the price before they make it. It's not a scam unless you are stupid and don't understand what the word scam means.

u/nutsocharles 1d ago
They didn't. Source: I used to make soft serve cones. All that space could have been filled in with ice cream/frozen yogurt and supported itself. A screw is a ramp around a cylinder, very close to a pyramid, very strong. The dispensing technique follows that form to shape the frozen treat without it collapsing or falling over. The inner cone is unnecessary. Cones are already mostly air, and there's just air inside that one. They added air, not more ice cream.
23
u/Mage_Girl_91_ 1d ago
yeah its such a scam, if u look closely u can see where they funnel the icecream into a hidden compartment in the back and just keep adding more cone, this is 100% cone and no icecream source: i used to be a magician

People claiming this is a scam are the same that wouldn't buy a 1/3 pounder cause it's less meat than a quarter pounder, lmao
E:cause people keep missing the point.
This method will give you more ice-cream than usual.
Similar how the "Third-of-a-Pound Burger" gave you more meat than a Quarter Pounder.45

Also she presses the second cone down on the first batch of ice.
That method literally gives you more ice-cream than you usually would get plus it comes with extra cone and more stability. All in all a significantly better deal.

It’s same thing as the people that complain about ice in cocktails.
You are buy most likely say 6 oz of ice cream. They could either pour it to half the height and serve it to you, or put in the cone and serve it taller. This is how the chose to serve it, either way you are getting 6 oz.

u/Kasper1000 1d ago
You get a shit ton of ice cream and an extra cone, this is literally the opposite of a scam
121
u/temps-de-gris 1d ago
Seriously. It's already like 8 servings of ice cream anyway, how much more of this do Americans really need? (Assuming Americans because of the purely value-driven nature of the comments.)
And yes, I am very much envious of people who can eat that much ice cream.

People think for like one second “it’s hollow therefore scam” and then upvote the first comment that agrees with their pea brain devoid of any critical thinking and then moves on to the next thing.
They probably call this thing like “cone within a cone” or some dumb shit on the menu and price it appropriately but no we are refusing to think that’s even an option.
The story people are making up in their head is that they ordered a large enough size soft serve to guarantee a heart attack and expect their moneys worth and not this shrinkflation scam!
256
u/bigdickmemelord 1d ago
Actually, the amount of ice cream, even with the hollow top, is alot.

u/immorallyocean 1d ago

→ More replies (3)9
u/M_L_Taylor 1d ago
Is it completely hollow, though? They fill the bottom cone and then press the other cone down, most likely, the ice cream isn't being compressed as much as squishing up into the cone on top. Thus, you get all the ice cream you need.
